Richard Worth
Giant Step Records
|
When Giant Step first began back in 1990, one of the regulars to the weekly club was a young chap from the UK named Richard Worth. Feeling inspired by the musical creativity at the club, he brought his flute and began to play alongside the DJ. Richard was the first musician to take this initiative and the results were magical. Soon other musicians followed suit and brought their instruments to "jam" with the DJ. Out of these sessions the sound of Giant Step and Groove Collective was born? the rest is history.
Now, ten years later, we decided to capture the vibe and atmosphere of Giant Step 2000. The result is "Rise". Richard leads us through an uplifting and soul-inspired voyage, and Giant Step resident DJ Ron Trent lays down the foundational beats and production in true deep-Trent form. Joining their fellow Groove Collective mate, Jonathan Maron lends his brilliant instrumentation on bass, and Barney McCall tops the track on keys. "Rise" represents the beauty of spontaneity and true talent, teamed with DJ artistry. Already in the crates of key DJ's, this track is sure to bring out the flute lover in us all.
