Yarah Bravo
Discuss in forums
biography

In the rarified world of feminine Hip-Hop, this Brooklyn-based Brazilian/Chilean/Swedish MC Yarah Bravo is the exception that could change the rules. Neither a sex kitten wannabe nor a puppet for a behind the scenes producer, Yarah displays defiant intelligence, acute political awareness and a world-traveler’s sense of cosmic consciousness while exuding the streetwise cool of the neighborhood girl we all secretly love.

As a member of London's underground supergroup One Self,
Yarah slides effortlessly between soulful, jazz-inflected lines and determined rhymes, whilst not afraid of speaking her mind. This charismatic and openly honest MC might just be the one to change the game.

With her various groups (One Self, B.o.B., and Russian Percussion) the young Miss B has circumnavigated the globe
numerous times employing her larger than life stage presence to spread her gospel. Yarah Bravo performs with a sense of
heartfelt urgency, conviction, and youthful energy that captivates even the most listless crowd. The child of two freedom fighters, Yarah is a true renaissance woman with a purpose and her contributions to One Self’s critically-acclaimed “Children of Possibility” simultaneously challenge boundaries, educate, and entertain. While others are content with polluting the airwaves, Yarah Bravo would rather provide a breath of fresh air.
