As an artist, Carl Craig is globally respected for consistently breaking musical boundaries and challenging preconceptions about modern music. In 1999, he was selected by Rolling Stone Magazine as 24th on their "Top 40 Influential Musicians of 2001." His uncompromising approach to creating music has also kept his label, Planet E Communications, on the cutting edge of music production and the entire industry. Like Carl himself, the label's reputation is built on unyielding support for and dedication to the artists. He also understands the significance of educating his native Detroit and the masses about electronic music and its impact on the world - and is fiercely committed to this end. That vision became a reality in the form of the world's largest free music event, the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Under Carl's creative direction, the 2000 and 2001DEMF was a high-energy, multi-ethnic, 3-day dance party in Detroit's Hart Plaza, attracting more than 1 million music lovers from all over the world.
Already a universally respected producer, Carl Craig continues to innovate artistically, challenging himself with new music projects and collaborations that blend genres. He will always be dedicated to supporting Detroit's talented youth and emphasizes above all, musical uniqueness and artistic integrity.
Upcoming releases this summer/fall include 12" of Carl's mixes of "Come Closer"(a track by Detroiter Todd Sines)plus re-releases of:"A Wonderful Life" and "As Time Goes By"
