

Having been a fixture on the west coast DJ scene since the late 90's DJ Santo has DJ'd alongside and opened up for artists such as Bugz in Attic, Truby Trio, Bebel Gilberto, Nicola Conte, Thievery Corporation, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Turntables on the Hudson and many others. His weekly LA Party Transistor Lounge was voted Best Space Age Oasis OASIS in the LA Weekly. DJ Santo was voted, best club DJ in the LA Alternative Press Readers Poll in 2003. He also has DJ'd massive events at the Pacific Design Center and MOCA during his stay in LA. He also DJ'd on LA's longtime Pirate Radio station KBLT and is featured in the book 40 Watts from Nowhere. In 2005, DJ Santo moved to Portland, OR where he has since DJ'd at Holocene, Saucebox, Tube, Masu and Doug Fir while also spinning at private events for Nike and Weiden and Kennedy. His production project Soulphonic Soundsystem is releasing its debut album in March 2007 and has recently secured placements in upcoming episodes of both Entourage and CSI.
Currently DJ Santo hosts "Something Different," an eclectic radio program that airs Sundays on KMHD 89.1FM from 6pm-9pm in Portland and from 8-10pm on Indie 101.5 in Santa Fe. The show features a unique mix of nu jazz, future soul, downbeat, funk, latin and breaks. The show is also available on demand at giantstep.net.
