Born Carlitta Durand...still Carlitta Durand. In Minneapolis, MN 1984, jammin' to prince's purple rain in her mama's belly, Carlitta was born loving music. Raised on music classics such as Earth wind and fire, the gap band, the Isley Brothers, Prince, Marvin Gay, new edition, Boys II Men....Carlitta was destined to love music and pursue music as her life long dream and career. Carlitta started singing soon as she could open her mouth but it was really noticed when she was in pre-school and her teacher would always hear her singing opera..(I don’t know)...Carlitta could catch on to any song learn the lyrics right away and just start singing away. Carlitta has been writing since the age of 14, she started off writing poems but soon after songs...it just came so natural for her. She started singing in the church and recorded her first album at the age of 16, a gospel album. From then on she knew what she wanted to do, make music, share music, and reach people through her music. As soon as Carlitta got to college her genre of music transformed to a combination of neo-soul, jazz, hip hop, and R&B. Carlitta has always been open to any kind of music, anything inspires her. She currently resides in Butner, NC and is working on music all the time... hoping the world would one day love music like she does.
