About House for Hope
House of Hope was created to feed, clothe, educate and meet the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of children orphaned by war and AIDS in Africa. The House of Hope organization is a non-denominational group formed to respond to the needs of orphaned children in Africa. We want to develop a self-sustaining agriculturally based orphanage that will provide for the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the children.
About Africa Live
Africa Live! is a non-profit organization created by Rocky Dawuni whose mission is to preserve, restore, and reinvigorate the Ghanaian music scene, creating public and industry awareness for its rich history and value, and commercial opportunities for artists and the community. Through Africa Live! Dawuni plans to promote music education and appreciation in schools, provide artists with access to instruments, venues and professional production assistance, and further appreciation and demand for traditional West African music throughout the world.
About Project Ahimsa
PROJECT AHIMSA is a global effort to empower youth through music, with offices in San Francisco, California and Tampa, Florida. Since its inception in 2001, the organization has reached nearly 10,000 children around the globe through music education grants and musical instrument donations. Inspired by the teachings of non-violence and cross-cultural understanding of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., Project Ahimsa creates and supports music education programs for children around the world. Project Ahimsa is a cultural initiative of the Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel Foundation for Global Understanding (www.global-understanding.org), a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
About Education Through Music
Education Through Music, Inc. (ETM) makes music education a reality for thousands of at-risk children who would otherwise have limited or no exposure to the arts. Since 1991, ETM has harnessed the power of music to enhance the academic performance and general development of its students. Our work provides these children with the skills to become better learners and the confidence to live in an increasingly challenging world. ETM currently serves over 9,000 students in 20 inner-city schools in New York, and our model is being adopted by school systems across the country, including our newest affiliates in Los Angeles and the Oakland/Bay Area.
