Cielo, New York NY
|
event description
Giant celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. and the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama.
This year the celebration features London's Norman Jay MBE, who will make his first NY appearance in over a year. This legendary DJ is known to many as the godfather of British dance culture, he is responsible for Good Times Sound system at Notting Hill Carnival, coining the phrase "rare groove" and co-founding the Talkin' Loud Record label. He is still one of the most in demand DJs in the world.
From the early days of Giant Step to today's Turntables on the Hudson parties, Nickodemus has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. As a DJ & a producer, he explores the intersection of Urban & World Music with sounds of Funk, Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House & Dub- all with a message of peace, awareness & love for the dance.
