Internationally acclaimed artists Thievery Corporation released their 5th studio album entitled Radio Retaliation on September 23rd, 2008 on ESL Music. The record takes their trademark "outernational" aesthetic to the next level with inspiration from sounds from Jamaica, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. With Radio Retaliation Thievery Corporation raise the bar with a new cast of musical collaborators including: Nigeria's Afro-beat heir Femi Kuti, Brazilian star vocalist and guitarist Seu Jorge, Indian sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar, Slovakian chanteuse and violinist Jana Andevska, and Washington DC's own go-go originator Chuck Brown. Also returning on the album are long time co-conspirators Sleepy Wonder, LouLou, Notch, Zee and Verny Varela.

Formed in the summer of 1995 at D.C.'s Eighteenth Street Lounge -- the now world-renowned venue that is still a creative incubator for DC underground music -- Rob Garza and Lounge co-owner Eric Hilton bonded over strong drinks, dub, bossa nova and jazz records, then decided to see what would come of mixing all these in a recording studio.

"Our deepest source of inspiration comes from our record collections," says Rob Garza; an apt reference to their collective nom de plume. Always great admirers and curators of dusty grooves and all but forgotten music styles, Thievery Corporation borrow from the classically sensual and blunted sounds of their favorite Brazilian bossa nova, Jamaican dub reggae, vintage film soundtracks, and psychedelic rock to forge into new sonic territory.

Thievery Corporation will perform with an impressive 15 member live band.

From the early days of Giant Step, to today's Turntables on the Hudson parties, Nickodemus has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. As a DJ & a producer, he explores the intersection of Urban & World Music with sounds of Funk, Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House & Dub- all with a message of peace, awareness & love for the dance. Nickodemus will open the night with a DJ set.
