In honor of Fela Kuti’s 71st Birthday, Denver’s award-winning AfroBlu AfterHrs partners with Giant Step, Knitting Factory Records, and the Pan African Arts Society for a multi-media dance celebration of Love, Life & African culture which fuses performance art, film & social change through Afrobeat, Deep-House, Nusoul & other spirited music to bring you FELABRATION!
This Felabration edition of AfroBlu also serves as their 3rd Anniversary and will host live drumming and special performances with hosts Peju Alawusa and Ashara Ekundayo.

A quarterly after-hours dance ritual launched in October 2006, is produced and hosted by Peju Alawusa aka Yorubawoman & Ashara Ekundayo of BluBlak Media in Denver, CO. Resident Deejays include: RJ Duran (Denver), Ces (Denver) Matthew Bandy (London, Limestone Recordings), Offbeat (NYC, DeeperShadesofHouse.com) and Sabine (BKLN, OyaSound/Brooklyn Mecca).

In support of the Knitting Factory Records re-launch of Fela Kuti’s music catalogue, Giant Step has organized official Felabration events in more than 15 cities across North America throughout the month of October; this outstanding schedule of Felabrations will bring together some of the best DJs, musicians, and promoters around to celebrate the life, music, and birthday of Fela Kuti.
