With the start of a new year, Giant Step is back with another installment of REDIREKT with DJ Vikter Duplaix. The party returns to Cielo on Tuesday, January 17th. The music and format represents the freshest forms of dance music today, including dubstep, moombahton, glitch, soul, kwaito, deep house and everything in between. Both Giant Step and Duplaix have been responsible for spearheading the best in new music from Europe and the US and have created a party that showcases these sounds.

GRAMMY nominated Singer/Producer/DJ/lifestyle event curator Vikter Duplaix is a musical alchemist weaving global culture, independent thought, fine arts and progressive music into a purely golden lifestyle. The Philadelphia native's raw DJ skills were honed on the streets of his hometown along with turntable legends DJs Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money. His DJ sets and vocal performances have taken him all over the United States to Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and beyond. Vikter co-starred on the BET reality DJ competition series Smirnoff's Master of the Mix in 2010 and currently curates several nationwide nightlife event series while hard at work on his third studio album, LOVEmachine, set for release in 2012.

Hailing from Queens, mOma is the embodiment of the versatile New York DJ. His sets consist of an agile blend of funk, soul, r&b, disco, house, hip-hop, reggae, world music and futuristic dance grooves all mixed with an equal share of classic jams, rare gems and modern day bangers. This unique diversity has seen him hold a wide spectrum of residencies, ranging from the esoteric (The Good Spot at 105 Rivington w/ DJ Stimulus, Special Delivery at APT w/ DJ Eleven, Hot Music at Cayenne w/ Rok One & Jennifly, Redirekt at Cielo w/ Vikter Duplaix) to the more mainstream (Tenjune, Griffin, Gold Bar, Trump Soho). 2011 has seen mOma share the stage with a who's who of New York DJ Legends - Tony Humphries, Marley Marl and Tony Touch among others - and he plans on closing out the year in similar style having been invited to spin at The Rub on New Year's Eve. mOma's mixtapes and original production can be heard at soundcloud.com/djmoma.
