Digable Planets, one of the most beloved hip-hop groups of the 1990s, is reuniting for a special concert tour this summer. Now more than ever, their smooth funky grooves are needed in the hip-hop arena. Their head nodding beats are peaceful and mellow and each member has a distinct personality. This distinctness is made even more prominent as Ladybug Mecca just dropped a solo record and Butterfly continues to work with his own band called Cherrywine. The tour also serves as warm up for the Digables since they are going to be releasing an album on Blue Note in the near future. Also on the bill is intelligent MC J-Live, a man whose searing rhymes are always fierce and memorable and his beats always funky. J-Live is also releasing a new album very soon on Penalty Recordings. Last but not least, plus special guest Masauko.
