 One of the most accomplished female artists on the French music scene today, EMILIE SIMON brings together her many talents—vocalist, lyricist (English and French), composer, arranger, producer, guitar/bass player and keyboardist—to create sumptuous and unforgettable sonic dreamscapes.
Her U.S. debut album release THE FLOWER BOOK (Milan Records) on November 14th comes on the heels of her first official NYC performance Monday November 13th at New York’s own Joe’s Pub. The 15-track disc brings together highlights from EMILIE’s two albums released via Barclay/Universal France--her 2003 self-titled debut and 2006’s Végétal, hailed as a four-star work by Mojo--plus the artist’s critically acclaimed motion picture soundtrack for the original French release of La Marche De L’Empereur (The March of The Penguins).
Opening for Emilie is the U.S. debut of EL PERRO DEL MAR. This beautiful Swedish singer-songwriter releases her Kate Bush-meets-Phil Spector self-titled debut album (The Control Group, November 7, 2006) as a collection of sad yet beautiful 60s tinged paeans to love and loneliness which have already made her a star in her native Sweden.
