In anticipation of his debut album and first North American tour, Malian artist Vieux Farka Toure, son of the great Ali Farka Toure, will be performing at a special party in honor of the forthcoming Vieux Remixed on Friday, February 2, at Pachita (the upstairs lounge of NYC hotspot Pacha). Featuring DJ performances by Nickodemus, Chris Annibell, DJ Center, Fabian Alsultany, dk aka BollyGirlNYC and Eccodek (who have all remixed songs for the forthcoming Vieux Farka Toure Remixed album), along with live percussion by Jimmy Lopez and Malian talking drum player Baye Kouyaté – as well as a 30-minute performance by Vieux himself starting at 9 PM SHARP– this night will prove to be a meeting ground of many worlds converging around one incredible artist.
