DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist are The Hard Sell -- 8 turntables, 4 mixers & 2 effects pedals. This live-mixing effort -- the duo's third since 1999's Brainfreeze and subsequent Product Placement -- started with a a text message: "would you want to do Freeze at the Hollywood Bowl?” Cut Chemist and DJ Shadow jumped at the chance to be the first-ever headlining turntablists at the legendary 16,500 capacity Los Angeles venue, the site of infamous concerts by everyone from John Williams to the Beatles to the Doors.

Supporting the night, the Mighty Underdogs, a new super-group comprised of The Gift of Gab, Lateef The Truth Speaker, and Headnodic debut with an EP entitled The Prelude, featuring DJ Shadow, MF Doom, Ladybug Mecca, and Rashaan Ahmad from the Crown City Rockers (out October 29).

Announced in early May 2008, tonight's NYC date at Williamsburg's massive outdoor venue McCarren Pool offers New Yorkers their final chance to see the show before the Hard Sell set is retired.
