In a nutshell, the best way to describe this album is a spacey, yet organic breakbeat journey. From spacey atmospherics to crunchy dancefloor drums, the Backyard Banger's sound is everything you could ask for to take you away.
Too often more atmospheric breakbeat music is great to sit in the car stereo or at home, but is out of place on the dancefloor, this album finds that middle ground. Solid production from haunting keys to the rugged percussion and creative sampling, the duo of E. moss and Troublemaker really nail it down. Tracks like "Yardwork" and "Perception" have that at home listening/road trip type vibe, while other cuts like "New Sound" and "London Calling" would be right at home on a dancefloor at peak time. The kicker is that nothing feels out of place on the album. The Backyard Bangers find a rare balance between artistic integrity, dancefloor credibility and overall cohesiveness that makes the album a go anywhere piece of music that you can listen to front to back and not want to skip a track.
