i am, is and are ... the dj whose name is IRRELEVANT ... because it's not about me ... it's about the music

i don't like loud music, because i know that somewher down the line it will effect my ability to listen to good music!

i'm kinda shy, but the work i do puts me in social situations ... i'd rather sit on a couch and listen to tunes w/ friends. and actually, i really don't like many people. i'm a little bit of a misanthrope at times.

i first went to a giant step joint in 95 ... i think?

i am black sunshine and/or midnight moonlight ...

i live in durham, nc now ... lived in dc and nyc for some time ... i miss the music that is accessible in larger cities. sob, sob!

i'm a workaholic and i like it!!!! because i like the work i do ... oh i'm an arts organizer/creative consultant.

blah, blah, blah ... like you even read all this ...

shine.

My name is falxwon, but my mama would tell you differently.

My work: web dev/brandalism/pr
My passion: collage

No, I've never been married, but I'd like to be. Karen, if you change your mind, let me know. I still love you.

My secret hobby - I collect rare katanas (not the motorcycle silly).

For musical pleasure: Jazz, Soul, Rock and the Blues will do nicely.

For daily motivation: Broken Beat, Downtempo, Acid Jazz, Emo, Punk, and Breakbeats work splendidly.

How long have I really been down with Giant Step? About 8-10 years, back when they used to snail mail newsletters. Back when they were strictly the source for acid jazz... as far back as Martine Gerault's 'Revival' on their first compilation. That far.

Favorites from 2004:
Talking to King Britt about the future of soul music while the Bugz in the Attic crew kicked it at Fluid nightclub in Philly.

Dancing with Celia from Les Nubians as Rich Medina spins Fela Kuti 'Water Get No Enemy' at Fluid.

Talking to Conya Doss about how good her album is after nearly knocking her over in Soho, NYC.

Seeing Marsha from Floetry in downtown Philly with a t-shirt that said 'I'm Rick James *****' this summer the day after he died. Classic.

I'm from Tallinn, Estonia. I love all things deep, no matter if it's house, r&b, jazz, broken beat or even drum&bass. There can be enough deepness even in drum&bass you know.
Hobbies include photography, music production, design and more.

And if you don't know about Estonia you should know that house (and i mean real house) is big here.

Glad to be member of the Giant Step community.

I'm from London, and this weird guy called Chad mentioned this site to me, but the site isn't weird, its cool.

I work for a big media company that thinks it's smart to give us televisions and unlimited internet access, so i'll be spending a lot of time here from now on.

I went to NYC in September and came straight from JFK airport at 2pm to PS1 which was like no place i'd ever been to before. London and the rest of the world misses out bigtime.

My picture I took in Hyde Park in July... and i can't think of anything else of interest to write.

Halo,

My name is James, I hail from Raleigh NC.My first hearing of a Giant Step record was Donnies the colored section. I knew then I had found a progressive music label to ask for in record stores. I am a big fan of broken beat, jazz R&B fusion type stuff, so if anyone knows any good artist hit me up and let me know.
