first experience w/giant step: on wax, early encounters with DJ Smash tracks and Groove Academy joints on the Eightball label. i first went to their weekly party in the fall of '94. @ new music cafe (which became shine), nyc. jazzy nice killed it on the wheels. special guest was sens unik (Swiss hip-hop outfit). included MCs, beatbox artist, musicians, and a blonde-haired, blue-eyed female vocalist with the vocal resonance of Mary J. Blige. the place was dumbfounded. they floored us. been a believer in GS ever since.
