I agree Superbizzee...most adventurous..."Gotta Get Up" with the 4 hero track. Jill has set the bar so high that many expected for her to supersede what she had already accomplished. But I think she is a great consistent artist.

Cd is strong in IMHO, she has gone through some personal changes since her last release. I really like the way they use a classic Mahavishnu Orchestra track in one of the joints.

after reading Superbizzee response... very thought provoking. You definitley have to take time to listen to the CD, take time to hear the lyrics, hear the music, hear what she is feeling. And I must admit upon first hearing it I wasn't feeling it.
I turned to one of those MTV channels on digital cable. Everything sounds the same from rock to rap to R&B... so when someone has the nerve to do something a little different, we really aren't sure how to handle it.
So to answer the question Jill Scott is dope as ****!! She will be among the few who future artist will say she was their inspiration.

I love the album. I think that with maturity the music matures with you. It is your life, your love, feelings. That is what she put into the album. I think that with every song I can relate to one way are another. That person you hurt, that love at first site, the family get together. "Its real"!
