i went to the local video store and rented prince's 'under the cherry moon.' great black and white artsy film. the soundtrack still makes me groove. it reminded me of how much i love prince's old music.

i really dig spike lee's movies and they usually have great soundtracks. 'clockers' is a great movie and soundtrack. terence blanchard, who does the score to many of spike's movies, is brilliant.

one of my favorite spike lee movies is '25th hour' with edward norton. there is a scene where they are in a club and it sounded like you were sitting right in the middle of the club in movie theater. whomever mixed that audio made great use of surround sound.

there are some poignant scenes of ground zero along with terence's score. the dvd has a 'ground zero' tribute. truly moving. peace.

OK -

Shaft is probably one of my all time favorites. Mad Props to Isaac Hayes on that one!
Oceans 11 & Kill Bill definitely set the mood of the movie with their tracks.
Singles - even though the movie was a a grunge 90210
Love Jones - can't say enough about the power of that one!!!
Juice - Eric B & Rakim... say no more
Saturday Night Fever - probably the best soundtrack of the disco era
Pulp Fiction- Lots of oldie clasics.
