Kirk Degiorgio returns with an album that flows effortlessly across BPMs and genres. The first single from the forthcoming Platinum Pied Pipers album features the awesome vocals of newcomers Tiombe Lockhart and Georgia, plus bonus beats for the DJs. The Platinum Pied Pipers are a two-man dynamic musical duo with a fresh-faced blend of modern hip hop and soul to tempt the masses and quench the thirst of an underground scene looking for something original and twisted. Producers Waajeed (a founding member of Slum Village and producer to heavyweights like Dwele and Jay Dee) and Saadiq began recording their “PPP� album in Detroit and are polishing it off in New York City where they recently moved. The album set for release on Ubiquity in February 2005 will feature an amazing cast of guests including Jay Dee, Spacek, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and lots more.

Hail the return of the Heavyweight LA funksters! Breakestra are back with 2 brand new cuts plus instrumentals. This first single from the forthcoming album will please Breakestra fans as they pick-up where they left off – only this time the hard hitting pysched out funk jams aren’t all cover versions. In fact on this 12� as on much of the upcoming album they’re original home brewed jams.

Founded by musician, producer and DJ Miles Tackett, the crew holds it down at LA’s weekly premiere funk & beat extravaganza, The Root Down. Performing regularly to capacity crowds the night has also featured hip hop luminaries Jurassic 5, Dilated Peoples, Black Eyed Peas, Freestyle Fellowship, Company Flow, Cut Chemist, Nu-Mark and DJ Shadow. Tackett has also produced tracks for the likes of T-Love, Cut Chemist, Dilated Peoples, & Macy Gray. The world first got a taste of The Breakestra flavor from their recordings on the much adored indie hip-hop label, Stones Throw Records. Deep funk DJs like England's Keb Darge and Ian Wright to NYC's heavy-duty soulster Kenny Dope quickly picked up on the accessible slab of JB-tinged excitement and even The Thievery Corporation have licensed tracks for a Mix-CD Compilation.

As soon as it became public knowledge that Luv n' Haight owned the rights to this album our phones rang off the hook. Record companies called wanting to license tracks from the album (Check the top notch Gilles Peterson "Incredible Sounds" and "Jazz Biznizz" Compilations). But here are all the tracks, available for the first time on CD, remastered and subtly re-packaged to keep the integrity and spirit of the original album in check. Also included is a special LP-size poster insert comprised of unearthed pictures, handbills, and memorabilia from gigs played nearly 30 years ago. The Sons and Daughters musician collective described themselves as a mix of African rhythms, Latin flavors, and Far Eastern textures. Their energetic sounds earned them stage appearances with the likes of Sun Ra, Fela Kuti, Freddie Hubbard, and Stanley Turrentine.
