Expatriate American art professor living and teaching in New Zealand has a suite of 5 handmade works by, arguably, the world's most prominent African American visual artist - David Hammons ( Google him for confirmation of this fact ). Work was acquired directly from the artist in the mid 80's, when I was living and working in NYC. The work deals with Michael Stewart, an African American graffitti artist killed by NYC police in 1984. The work's title: "The Man Nobody Killed - Michael Stewart". I recently sold one of these pieces to a prominent LA art dealer for five figures - the aforementioned dealer will markup ( by 25-50%) and resell the work to a collector. Hammons' work is in most major international museum collections and is sold at auction ( Christies, Sothebys ) for high dollar prices. Hammons has won the $500,000 MacArthur ( genius ) award. Serious inquiries and offers answered. Jpegs of each work available. Start or add to your collection of African American visual art. Only five unique works available.
