Hey all of you,

I know how awesome Montreaux Jazz Festival is !!
The radio program here in Tokyo featured this Festival happened in this June or sometime like that and a few month later, I visited my friend in a hotel room and he was playing that on TV.
Maybe that was not this year 's venue I guess ...
It was so stunning hot artists there on the show so far --- LaBelle, Scisor Sisters as far as I can name them from my empty memory and some others.
Those records all of you guys recommended are thumb up, indeed !!

I actually stumbled onto your post by accident, but I may be able to help, since I know a little bout' the TV license thing...

More than likely, the license that Ovation got from the authorities at the Montreux Jazz Org. will only allow them to broadcast the program, which means that they can't create or distribute any copies of the program to individuals. Plus, the licenses usually allow the private broadcaster (Ovation) to "piece" together different segments or highlights from different films, as needed. In, other words, what they aired may have been something that they just spliced together for the purpose of broadcasting and not an actual tape/DVD.

Futhermore, even if it is an actual tape, Ovation will still give you, as an individual, the runaround. But, if you're tight with someone that is connected to a TV station, or a record company or has some decent clout with a data transmitting company (Cable, Dish Network, TiVo, Direct TV, Comcast, etc.) have them contact the Montreux Jazz Org. directly and try to go bout' it that way.

The trick is to NOT let the Montreux people know that an INDIVIDUAL wants a copy of the program; you gotta have your plug person make the Montreux cats think that the tape/DVD is for a TV station, record company or one of the data transmitting companies listed above and they'll try to make it happen.

i never knew this existed until a few days ago. it is a program that was show on ovation arts station on tuesday. the thing is ovation is hard to view because it's independent and not picked up by comcast, direct tv or any of that. anyway, they showed a program called, 'best of montreaux jazz festival' and it has hightlights from 2003 at the festival with various artists..www.ovationtv.com

does anyone know where i can find a copy of this program? i contacted ovation and got nothing...so maybe someone else has heard of this or knows where i can get it?
