I just made it back from my trek to the Inauguration/Coronation in D.C. today. I've got to say it was an amazing albeit taxing experience. Waiting over 3 hours on 7th Street & D to get to the circus tent checkpoints was a bit much, but the company of my fellow Americans...literally THOUSANDS of them, made it all worthwhile. There was some inspired debate, loads of protest and surprisingly only one clash with police. At least, I only witnessed one pepper spray session. The parade itself was a bit deflating after the wait. I basically had 20 seconds to give Bush & Cheney an earfull as their motorcade rolled through, which was a bit of a let down as they both had their windows up. But boy did I give Bill Frist an earfull. Did anyone else make it down to D.C. today? Would love to hear other's stories.
