Aloe Blacc was hot at the Stones Throw show. I wasn't so keen on Madlib though. I thought he was a little too high. That's just my opinion. He did do my joint "M.H.B's" Percee P put it down too. Looking forward to his full-length. Overall the show was hot.
To Aloe Blacc was the best thing there last night. I was upset that Madlib didn't turned it out to me and I drove all the way down from DC to see him. Im bring Aloe Blacc to DC soon for a show.
Just got back from checking the Stones Throw 10 Year Anniversary gig at Sonar in Baltimore. Any of you there? I have to say that Aloe Blacc turned it out. From his opening freestyle/mantra exclaiming why hip hop ISN'T dead (take that Nas ;-) to his set ending "turn to your left and right and introduce yourself....homeboy might be the person to drive you home some night when you're drunk or lend you a dollar when you need it," his set was all love. Honestly wish he would have played a bit longer. J Rocc's on the spot mix of "Apache" was unbelieveable and the exclusive, unreleased Dilla cuts he was dropping were ill. Of course, no slouches in their own right PB Wolf, Guilty Simpson, M.E.D. and the almighty Madlib rocked it. Aloe made my night though.
