Yeah, I just copped the Purple Rain special edition joint to, Navee. I just thought that they would have included some deleted footage. One of the best cult classic/ rock films of all time. Good call on the Virgin Suicides, Buddah. Here's a few flicks that I wanna go check:

1. Shaun Of The Dead
2. The Corporation (www.thecorportation.com)

Anyone who's seen 'em, feel free to weigh in...you might be able to save me 10 bucks!

(no particular order)

Biggie and Tupac - nick broomfield, this is the man that michael moore stole his style. check out all his docs: chicken ranch, kurt & courtney, heidi fleiss, leader, his driver and the frivers wife, etc.

Une Femme est une Femme (a woman is a woman) - kick *** f**cking movie. the best of the best of godard.

Bourne Supremacy - good ol fashion eastern european spy thrillers, yeah, lick that candy coated movie and sure enough, by the end, i got myself a tootsie roll! mmmm ...

deconstruction - some swedish film showing at angelika that georgex liked more than me, but all the same. good good good (the sexy lead actress didn't hurt ... ok it hurt a bit, but in a good way).

is that five yet? i forgot and i have a rule not to scroll upwards in this forum text box and reread anything i write. makes it dan ger ous yo ;)

1. Shaun of the Dead--If my friends ever got stuck in a zombie movie, this is what would happen.

2. American Splendor-- this movie kinda sneaks up on you.

3. Infernal Affairs-- if Hollywood has to remake it, get Mamet to do it.

4. Garden State (i'm a sucker for these kind of films)

5. Copland-- Who knew Stallone would steal the movie from DeNiro, Keitel, and Liotta

1. Garden State - quirky and intelligent enough to hold my interest, subtle enough to make me give Zach Braff props for not hitting me over the head like other films in the indie angst genre.

2. Farenheit 9/11 - for obvious reasons.

3. Manchurian Candidate- being a HUGE fan of the original, I was expecting another H'wood hackjob. I was surprised to find this a competently done thriller with Denzel leaving all of the scene chewing to Meryl Streep.

4. Bourne Supremacy - Matt Damon kicks *** in such a compellingly realistic fashion, that I find myself rooting for a CIA assasin. A supreme irony for a counterculture leftist like myself.

5. Hero - Beatiful and Poetic. I'm sure half of the megaplex goers that shelled out $9 to see this expected more wire fu *** kicking, faster pacing and less elliptical plot developments but hey, people in **** want ice water.

Amelie- more beautiful every time i see it
Winter, spring, summer, autumn and winter - lovely musing on life and growth and buddhist eye candy.
Motorcycle Diaries- a little sanitised but beautiful to look at.
The Virgin Suicides- sleepwalking through someones mind ??
Wings of Desire - My favourite films- who says angels don't exist
