hey izi, thanks for the words and appreciation. voodoo is so unique and so truly dope in every way, and in no way to imply comparisons, those are qualities i try to manifest making music.
plenty more good goods on the way...

Hey Mark.. Like all us Giantsteppers, I'll reiterate that "Tide's Arising" is an INCREDIBLE album. I was telling my brother how, to me, it may be the best modern soul record since D'Angelo's "Voodoo". Keep the hits comin'! I can't wait for you and Bembe on the 20th. Get Kaidi to get out here to NYC soon as well.
Til then..

yo!
thanks for holla-ing back. it's a shame we cant do the full live show stateside this trip. step by step. hopefully before the end of the year there'll be live shows over there. Doing DJ sets is a great chance for me to share some different bits n pieces - expect the unexpected :) we're really looking forward to the stateside invasion next week - it's a bit of a crazy schedule, but looking like we might have a few spare days in NYC so let me know if there's any must check events on early week around june 20.
a few upcoming releases to keep your ears out for:
MdCL - State of the Mental (Phuturistix + Maddslinky remixes) - ABB
MdCL - Traveling (Domu remix) - ABB
MdCL feat Lady Alma - Keep It Moving - Funk of Fury
The Politik - Money (Don't Let it Catch Ya) - Antipodean
Phuturistix - Fly Away feat Fyza (MdCL remix) - PhutureLounge
Domu - Let Me Be (MdCL remix) - Archive
any london heads - Freesoul Sessions hits the jazz cafe this friday for the late night sessions 11pm-2am. June 10 i'm joined by Kaidi Tatham and Cherie Mathieson (NZ), July 8 joined by Bembe Segue and more...

I am looking forward to his set at Joe's pub. It would have been great if he was able to do a live set. It's all good though.
His album is amazing though. That State of the Mental track is so hot!!

whassup,
thought i'd drop by and say a quick hello. If you're checking out the new album, thanks for supporting and i hope you got it on LOUD :) we just did the first two live shows at paradio in amsterdam and jazz cafe london. both shows were off the hook - bembe segue, michelle escoffery and sharene hector on vocals, kaidi tatham on keys and percussion, richard spaven on drums, plenty of fun. we're touring the album on the freesoul tip - beats programmed live on stage, every show's a different flip.
more live shows coming up in australia, nz and stateside in mid august... i'm going to be over stateside doing a DJ tour with bembe segue on the mic mid june, we're looking forward to getting over there and even more, taking the live band on the road.
got some hot new releases coming up - info on the website soon :)
peace,
mark
