big thanks to everyone who reached the Freesoul Sessions resident at the montreux jazz festival atlanta. that was some other planet for sure... we played 3 hours a night of straight impov. lil john roberts on the drums (SICKNESS personified), jason yarde on sax, julie dexter on vocals, and a whole crew of ATL horn players and musicians joining the madness. the sunday night jam was especially off the hook... sun ra horn sections rocking over my mpc and b line jams... craziness. great to see proper heads in the house - daz i kue turning up unannounced from london on the first night; bill summers getting down to the sounds from start to finish on the sunday.... big ups to my new ATL fam. see you all again soon hopefully!

i'm going to be touching down in ATL this week for the montreux jazz festival doing 4 Freesoul Sessions live shows...

Wednesday 5.30pm free concert at Callaway Plaza plus...
Wed/Thu/Fri three nights 10pm-1am late night sessions at Woodruff Jazz Club

Julie Dexter will be joining me on the mic, i'll be on MPC3000, rhodes, synth bass and keys, plus some heavy talent joining us on live drums - Little John and Che Marshall on different nights... ATLien talent is welcome to come down to the late night sessions and step up. Most important thing is to listen to the vibe first before jumping up... it's not your regular jam session - everything is improvised as it happens so it's all about ears wide open and writing as we go :)
