No as per "YOU".
Why don't YOU post the link for us all where Sony supposedly said this? We're waiting......
I know the tour, BET performance and GAP ads doesn't really mean anything. I have heard (just like you) different things about the album.
It's OK if you're mad at him, he'll be OK.
Don't fool people, you are giving an opinion not a FACT. Let's just agree to disagree.

yes. as per sony/bmg.
a tour does not mean a new cd released.
a gap ad does not mean a new cd released.
a performance on a bet award show does not mean a new cd released.
only a cd in your hands means a cd released.
do you have a new maxwell cd in your hands? no.
wake up.
like i said, the earliest it will happen is 2010...

OK. Don't say "as per Sony BMG".
Sony BMG hasn't said ANYTHING about this album.
All these false release dates came from Maxwell's mouth.
I do believe his album is coming in 2009, unless I hear otherwise.
The man came out of hiding and played shows in October and November. Give him a break.
I caught the NY show at Radio City Music Hall, it was a great concert.

superbizzee. hello. i read your blog. i agree with you and you agree with me. cool. its nice to be agreed with. i am so tired of maxwell fans telling me 'maybe his cd isnt ready yet' and 'its really gonna happen this time.' give me a break. maxwell and sony/bmg have given us 18 false release dates. give me a break. i have moved onto other talented artists and i recommend this move to others. fans should not be treated this way. the maxwell cd wont happen and if it does, 2010 will be the earliest. whatever. again, move onto to other talented r&b artists out there who actually RELEASE cds. (tunde, rahsaan, r thicke, b porter, suga rush, bryn, etc, etc). support artists who actually RELEASE cds with your time and money...

@bmcclenathan
where did u read or learn that? did sony release a statement?
if it does finally happen in 10, there better be a huge promo blitz. Yes the fact that itll be 9yrs will make demand, but I want these young kids 2 b introduced 2 GOOD music, not this crap from usher(luv idc) & MC(tmb).
i do like how Columbia has faith in LaurynHill & Maxwell. Other labels woulda dropped them.

NINE YEARS between albums? I thought D'angelo's 8 years between albums (and counting) was outrageous...
WHAT HAPPENED to the artists who began this neo-soul movement?
D'angelo, Maxwell, Erykah Badu...hello?
Now all we have is Musiq who's music gets more and more watered down and cookie-cutter with every release, Jill Scott, and Angie Stone. Of course there's more, but not many more that truly MATTER.

maxwell's black summer's night will not released until 2010 at the earliest per sony/bmg. all these false release dates in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 need to be ignored.

Pimpin' is not coming out anytime soon it seems with this Black Summer's Night album because he doesn't want to see me get loot man... I'm ready to put a concert together that the neo-soulsters will never forget in The Big Easy. R&B needs him and some of these other ladies and gents to bring love back, something that would make Donnie Simpson proud.
