got the chance to see Leela James on Friday night at Celebrate Brooklyn-all I can say is WOW!!!! that girl blew me away:
1) Her voice - like a cross between Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Janis Joplin and Mavis Staples.
2) Her stage presence - relaxed, real, energetic
3) Her band - tight and grooving-like a REAL soul band can.

This girl has it and MUST get the support to be a household name.

I am impressed.
