I agree. God of War is completely Pringles. It has everything, except beauty.
I actually think it *is* fun. And annoying. But, like, I was thinking about this earlier, and thinking about God of War, which borrows mechanics and motifs from every other videogame ever, and polishes them, and assembles them into a slick and shiny package, whereas Killer 7, by contrast, is rough around the edges. But God of War is ultimately like a pack of Pringles - an unfulfilling snack - whereas Killer 7 is like a gourmet meal, but one that's slightly let down by minging vegetables like celery and aubergine. Or something.
OK, it's not exactly *fun* - but it does make me feel genuinely crazed in a whole new way, and that's a pretty good advert for videogames as a distinctive cultural form.
