this is the same guy that had joni mitchell do a cover version of marvin gaye's trouble man on his debut cd 'from here to there.' his last release was more of an old school jazz feel. i like this contemporary sound kyle's throwing down. the track 'big noise from winnetka' sounds like it could break out the way us3's cantaloop island (flip fantasia) did. heavy rotation on my playlist.

D*@M! I actually meant that comment as a positive y'all. Kyle Eastwood's debut seems to me that it could potentially get lost in the shuffle of some of the more "smooth jazz" releases out there. I tend to think he ventures into more Erik Truffaz / St. Germain / Koop territory at times, which is a good thing. Have the standard jazz foundation, but also enough bounce to move the dance floor on a couple of cuts. Interesting release and who knew Clint Eastwood's son could get down on the bass like that???

hey justonekid ,
It's just you Kyle Eastwood has a style of smoother jazz like boney james, or david kozz, St Germain is the hottest jazz house I've ever heared and I heard a lot, yes I'm arrogant but I can be I was a music director in a college radio staion KBGA Missoula, listened to hundreds of formulas of house Triphop,Trance, eperimental, and a plethora of other genres from companies ranging from Giant Step, OM, Compost,PI recordings, etc. There are very few that come close to the cut such Jazzanova, Verve Remixes, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Rae and Chriostian, Theivery Corporation DJ Spooky, they are all heavy hitters but there is only St,Germain aka; Dave Navarre.
Where am I? In Missoula Montana, and I would give my left nut to see St. Germain, Truby Trillo, DJ Wally, Greyboy, nickodemius & Mariano. I envy pple in NYC the chanceto see the "Cream of the Crop" of the best innovative freshest sounds.

Is it just me or does the Kyle Eastwood material seem like a smoother version of St. Germain?
