She apparently had sound issues in TO too, but from the peeps that I heard from who were there, said that SOV went on and performed anyways and brought the same ***** she does to the studio to the stage spittin raw and basically remixing her tunes live. Not a big super-show, just Sovereign and her DJ.

Its interesting to hear opinions on Ms.Sovereign, shes quite well know on the Grime/Garage/UK Hip-Hop scene...however being well known doesnt mean your liked. She comes across as being a bit of a novelty and i cant imagine wanting to hear any of hear songs more than twice. Saying that she has got character and a decent flow, but as for the diva thing...personally i wouldnt know.
If you wanna hear some real UK Females represent, check out anything by Estelle (except maybe "Free").
And DO NOT SLEEP ON MPHO SKEEF!

watched an interview with her on swedish television. she comes across as an immature teen who just happens to have some vocal skills. not the sharpest tool in the shed. thank god for the mitchell brothers and m.i.a.

i never feel compelled to post, but last night's events at silk city warrant a discussion. as a big fan of lady sovereign, i was looking foward to seeing her perform live. she was booked to go on at 11, but from the minute she arrived at the venue, she was complaining about the stage and sound system. after numerous threats to cancel, she finally agreed to play and the doors opened at 10:15. bear in mind, people had been waiting out in the cold since as early as 8:30, so it was already a charged atmosphere.
it was a sold out show, and the place was packed. at quarter past midnight, she finally took the stage. one song in, she decided it was a good idea to talk **** about the sound system again ... for a solid 10 minutes. people were getting restless and the mood was quickly changing from excitement and support to anger. her dj started to play the first bars of 'random,' but she stopped him and walked off the stage with not even a word of apology.
that was it. she was done before she even started.
musicians face ****** sound systems, ****** sound guys, ****** venues, and just general **** on a regular basis. however, the true professionals know how to deal with it and put on a good show regardless. miss louise should have taken a lesson from her dj, who seemed to have no problem mixing seamlessly on the same stage with the same sound system even minutes before (and while) she was on stage.
philly fans don't forget and forgive easily. everyone there last night (including myself) lost a lot of respect for sov, and it's unlikely most will give her a chance to redeem herself anytime soon.
sov had her chance last night to prove how 'real' and credible she is, and the only thing she proved was her age. to her fans who have yet to see her: make way for the S.O.di.V.a!!!
