Saw them in Brooklyn last night, and it was perfect! "Why Do I Love You..." or something similar to that title brought the house down. It's been 12 years since I've seen them live and they didn't disappoint!
okay...thanks for the update. sounded dope once the sound drama and waiting finally calmed. fyi - thanks michael and giant step for the free download of 'right on'..the horns are what make them such a stand out and this song helps prove that.. welcome back ms.n'dea!
Yeah, I agree. The technical difficulties were annoying but that didn't deter them from putting on a tight performance. People were singing along to their classics and grooving with the new cuts. Can't wait for the full album - we're so glad they are back!
The show was great once it finally got going. DJ Spinna kicked it off with a great set. However, Once the Heavies came on it was like them versus their sound crew. That distraction throughout the first portion of the show took some of the anticipation of seeing them together in such a long time. N Dea D and the band fought through all of the drama with the various feedbacks and what not and the second half and encore was great. I just wished they never began their set so late. Alot of us in the audiance felt that we were standing forever. I was a good show never the less.
so, give up the goods...how was it?
yes, yes, yes!!!
Can I see hands of those who are going to the Brand New Heavies show tonight in NY? Can't wait for it! Already blasting out "Brother Sister" all morning long!
