honestly, the whole wait thing doesn't surprise me. it's been like that for awhile now with shows, and i never understand why. i do understand waiting atleast a few minutes to even an hour, but sometimes it's outta hand (hip-hop). most of the shows ended up being worth the wait. case in point tribe called quest in philly last year. we waited forever and ever and ever. but ****...a chance to see them all on stage together doing a FULL concert (they only did like 4-6 cities in total) - i woulda sat down and curled up waiting for that!
i do feel you gotta get up in the morning tip, but that's what usually happens. especially indoors - i don't know why, but it's nothing new and definitely not isolated to this concert. when you go to a concert on a 'school' night, you gotta prepare yourself to deal with the exhaustion that follows the next day. but usually it's worth it.
jamiroquai in NYC (orchestrated by giant step), we waited through a DJ for about an hour and a half (but we did get let in on time). but it was the same in AC and CHICAGO where giant step wasn't involved - but that's another one i woulda sat down and been patient for. HA! :)

I attended the A-Ham concert last night. I came from Philly with 5 other people and although we had to wait two hours before the show began, it was well worth it.
We had the pleasure to stand right behind the owner's reserved seats and had up close and personal contact with Anthony and his band. They had to pass right through us to get to the stage. We took pictures of Anthony on stage. After the show, he came down and we hugged him and shook his hand. A photographer took our pictures with him and Leon, (The Actor). It was a dream come true!!!!
At the GiantStep Promo table where they were giving away items I was asked to be photographed holding up some of the material.
Yes, it was a bit much considering the time we had to wait, standing all the while. But the tickets were cheap enough not to complain too much. In all fairness, you really can't have expected too much for an event that was held on a weeknight. Let's get real, people.
Peace

Maybe you didn't see my post. The show was way more than a little late (an hour and a half). I would like to have stayed to see the whole thing but unfortunately had to leave early so I could get a few hours of sleep. I love Anthony but I was truly disappointed by the lack of planning and organization I witnessed last night.

Who caught the Anthony Hamilton show last night at the Canal Room? It got started a little late, but the performance was well worth it. He was on FIRE and the band was right there with him. Thanks Giant Step! (Great gift bags too!)
