This TUESDAY, June 22, 2004 @ Cielo (18 Little West 12th St.), from 10pm to 2am, DJ Ayo Osinibi, Tony Molla & Samba + Samba will be celebrating her new Six Degrees release.
DJ Ray Velasquez and DJ Ayo Osinibi will spin featured tracks from 'Bebel Gilberto,' as well as mix in their own Brazilian favorites. Tony Molla & Samba + Samba, a live Brazilian percussion ensemble, will also perform throughout the evening. Tony Molla has worked as a percussionist with Angelique Kidjo, who will be taking on Apollo Theater before the month of June ends, as well as Timbalada, Banda Eva, and Ivete Sangalo.
Jun 12th, 2004 at 03:21:30 AM EST I had the pleasure tonight at 9pm of watching the Virgin Megastore Union Square art department throw up the Bebel Gilberto window display -- in the last display (next to the movie theater).
I think I'm going to buy a rose tomorrow and leave it in front of the window. Just looking at her face brings a smile to my own.
Jun 10th, 2004 at 02:33:01 PM EST Just fyi..I'm sure most of you already know, but there's a release party at everyone's favorite sounding club, Cielo on Tuesday, June 22nd for Bebel's new album. My man Ray Velasquez will be one of the choice selectors DJing at the event and it's only $5!!!
