Dwele – ‘Some Kinda...’ (Virgin Records)

The poster boy of modern soul does it again. For a few years now, Dwele has been a name synonymous with sweet soulful lyrics and an enchanting voice, and he’s not about to let up. Riding with help from writer/producers Mike City, fellow Detroit alumnus Jay Dilla and G-1, Dwele is ready to serenade your speakers again. You know the deal, soul-jazz-r’n’b-hip hop-smooth jams.

In the two years since his debut release, Dwele hasn’t missed a beat. This album covers everything from love to self-introspection and lament. Destined floor bangers like “I Think I Love You” ride side by side with smooth hidden gems like “Flapjacks." There’s something for every mood of every hour of every day. Everybody has Some Kinda something, but this album is Some Kinda wonderful.
