I thought it goes down as a classic and I have been to a few over the years. It actually reminded me of the early days but a step up. Highlights for me:
Robert Glasper
Jazmine
and seeing and eventually meeting Larry Mizell, that touch was DEEEEEEP.
Gilles set was on point heavy on the jazz, it pushed all my buttons.
Yes not all the live music was brilliant but it was a pretty loose affair, Heavy were not great, still not sure about them especially after all the hype I kept hearing via UK. Theier inclusion in the night had more to do with the fact they are on BBC Sessions cd than anything else.
Other highlight:
The people who came down, a really true positive mix of diversity-there for music and no bullshit.

On the odor side-didn't notice anything and I dropped by the booth a couple of times to pay my respect and try and see some of the tunes Gilles (BTW I showered before I came out lol).
Thanks guys for a night to remember!!!!!!

Last nite was simply DOPE!! Robert Glasper Band was tight thru-out the night! Jazmine made it look oh'so easy and Dwele made it cozy for the crowd. An amazing evening of LIVE MUSIC indeed, and of course Gilles didn't disappoint.. Next time GS puts together a jazz/soul jamboree.. I'm there! .. w/o "Thinkin Twice." :-)

Great Show! The band was sick! Can I say it again? The band was sick! I liked Heavy. Dwele was good....
Jazmine Sullivan was amazing! She is a star. The talent, the look, the stage presence. She looks so comfortable up there, like she's been doing it for ever. Where is her album? I want one for me and ten for my friends.

Was a great evening, & Jazmine was amazing.
& I wholly agree w/ the body odor comment. I almost fainted from the stench.

I thought it was an amazing night as well... although the "Heavy" vocoder was a questionable addition (after the gazillioneth time it gets mad corny,yo!).. and Girl needs to work on her voice. Her backup singers had smoother pipes than her.

Not too sure I agree with you.

Gilles ripped it no doubt, there were two tracks in there that were phenomenal (I think one of them was off the new RSL LP?)(same part of the set as Les Fleur).

As far as the live set, Jazmine was amazing! She is definately going somewhere. I thought Dwele was a letdown or maybe he is just played out in the GS crowd.

Jamie Cullum should not have been allowed on the stage. I couldn't see what he did at the end of "Frontin", but the sound system got so screwed up and it seemed everything came apart. He mentioned that he was a little drunk, it showed.

I can't help but mention this, as it is the second time we have noticed this problem: PEOPLE NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR PERSONAL HYGIENE before going out to the club. There was some guy right next to the DJ booth that honestly cleared out a circle maybe 15' in diameter when he took off his coat. I've been in a lot of bad taxis, and even spent some time in some remote areas of Asia where soap is unknown, and this guy had them all beat. Everyone was looking around at each other like "WTF?" Even Gilles was noticably disturbed. I swear I posted a very similar message right after the last show, so I have to wonder if it is the same person each time.

Sorry for bringing this up, but it obviously bothered everyone standing in the area for about an hour. This was a very cool event, people need to show some respect for their neighbors and take a shower before coming out, m'kay?

I have to say that last night's Gilles Peterson shindig felt like a classic Giant Step show with jazz legends, soul headz and music from a variety of genres blending in smoothly. Gilles totally ripped it with his dj set and Dwele felt at home doing "I think I love you." I was most impressed by Jazmine Sullivan tho - great voice, indeed.
