Anyone who said that DJ set was just ok is crazy. Giles killed it on the decks. What makes him so good is how he keeps everything soulful, whether it is house music, old skool or drum & bass.
I think it was a better show than Cielo as the dance floor at Canal Room is much bigger and the crowd was full of energy. I just wished they turned the lights down in Canal Room just a little. Both sets (this one and the one last March) were amazing though. Giles is just the man. I want to be like him when I grow up. I wish all DJ's were like him and Louie Vega. Those guys just know what they are doing. I am kicking myself that I missed out on that new Louie Vega track though.

I totally agreed with cantona , i stayed till 3:45.Where in the nyc can have a place full pack of people shaking to the beat on tuesday night, he's dope !!! Last nite was absoultely no doubt fantastic, one of the BEST party i have ever been. He played old skool funk, dnb, house, west london sound...i cannot possibly ask for more, i'm such a geek, i bring a bunch of my Gilles record sleeves for him to sign...big shouts to Gilles and the Giant step crews for working that late, indeed the giant step crew maybe can considerate bring Gilles to ny doing a monthly show...

Man, I don't know what kind of magic Giant Step is workin...but it's enough to lure Gilles across the pond! They seem to be the only ones that can accomplish such a feat! Yo, the party last night was great. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Everybody was there! Everybody! Dwele was up in the house. Even P. Diddy's right hand man Bentley Fonzworth dropped by to sample some tasty beats. But I was floored when I saw Little Louis Vega had deliver Gilles a cut fresh off the press for him to play. Only the die hards who stayed to the bitter end got the chance to indulge in those aural pleasures. Yo, Gilles is da man...I wanna be like him when I grow up!

What are you talking about, last night was off the hook. The sound was good, his selection was amazing and the vibe lasted til the last record was played at 4am.

Lay out is soooo much better than Shine was or even going back further New Music Cafe.

Where were you joshsoul?

OK show. Gilles seemed a little bit off, not as wild as the scene was last time at Cielo. Then again, Canal Room is STILL screwed up in terms of layout and what is up with the smell in that place? It reeks in every single corner of the room.
