Did you check our Giant Step Store? I believe we still have copies. It definitely is a downer when a CD you actually want to buy is hard to obtain.

What an ordeal trying to get my hands on a "real" CD of Jody's "The Makeover". Had it on pre-order at Amazon.com (who are "partnered" with Virgin Megastores), only to find it would ship in 4-6 weeks. I tried calling a Virgin Megastore, but they referred me back to Amazon.com! Finally I sent an e-mail to customer service at Virgin and a nice person there told me she would mail me a copy, which I finally received this past week! In the meantime, I downloaded it from iTunes and think it is excellent! I especially love her takes on the "new" covers, and would love to hear more -- a "Jody sings Diana" project would be awesome! Because I am obsessive with this stuff, I added Jody's tune "The Essence", which was NOT on my Japanese CD of "Midnight Lounge" (it fits nicely, by the way). I also wanted to add a version of "Looking For A New Love", because wasn't that one of the first tunes she re-did for "The Makeover"? Anyway, does anyone know which is the best mix of this song to purchase to add to my "Makeover + Bonus Tracks"? Maybe Jody will add them when she releases this in Japan? Would love to hear from other Jody fans, either here or on pghmusiclover@yahoo.com!

too bad i missed her instore at virgin. love jody, i brought her latest cd. my fave joints are:

'bed of roses' - it has a drum n bass feel
'a beautiful life (remix) - tiiiight
'don't you want me' - the 2nd time around is better
'the makeover superstar' - she's doesn't need a makeover still a supastar
'waiting in vain' - bob marley turned house
the rest of the songs are ok, i wish she didn't do 'friendz' like the original with rakim better. her cover of madonna's 'borderline' is much mellow then the original.

oh yeah, i agree miss Jody Watley is "A True Diva !" of all time. she has got her own vision to realize and presents us on the notes but also her appearance. i 'm a great fun of miss Jody Watley (but missed her gig in tokyo ...) for long years and enjoying her music as evolving as her career. it 's now exciting to listen to her music even though she has left major record label. you know, she does quite experimental stuff ! it 's good to chill out and whatever the occasion is, worthy to play miss Jody Watley.
i think myself so lucky to be one of her followers and feel great to post this.

can you believe jody has been in the game since her days in shalamar (circa 1977!) and still remains fresh to this day? i have to admit the word diva is really over used but in jody's case it fits! word.
