I've got to agree with you. 'Elements of Life' is definitely one of those albums like 'Nuyorican Soul' that have a timeless quality about them. The remix album is dope. I've heard most of the mixes and some of the new songs and it holds up really well. Not like a lot of the current remix album junk that's flooding the bins these days. I've got to recommend that you keep your eyes peeled for Raul Midon's solo album 'State of Mind' coming out via Blue Note or Manhattan Records. I got to hear bits and pieces of it and Raul does a stripped down version of "Sunshine" (track from the 'Elements of Life' album) and he kills it. This version proves how strongs the songs on the EOL record are when you strip them down to the most basic elements, no pun intended.
