To round off Eyes Downs’s 5th birthday celebrations we are incredibly pleased to welcome back long time friends, and now Mancunian legends RSL. Here to mark the release of their long awaited debut album with a full live show.

After the critical and commercial acclaim of previous singles ‘Wesley Music’ (Gilles Peterson’s single of the year in his annual ‘All Winners Awards’) and 'The Mast', to say their debut LP is hotly anticipated is somewhat of an understatement to say the least

RSL's live shows are always memorable affairs with some incredibly talented musicians making for an amazing live show. For this evening we’ll be returning to the Mint Lounge on Oldham Street. As with the Moodymann Live show, we’ll be putting in a great sound system, and limiting the capacity of the venue, so advance tickets are going to be absolutely essential. This month we’re helping one of the UK’s best record labels in the country celebrate the release of the latest in their fantastic compilation series, and we’ve roped one of our favourite DJ’s along to help out.

This night is to celebrate the latest in BBE's ‘Strange games and Funky things’ series, released on 10th October. The idea of these compilations is to trace the sound of Hip Hop and R+B back to their roots in 70’s soul, funk and jazz running from classics from the likes of Donald Byrd and Bill Conti to lesser known gems from Monty Alexander, Yasuko Agawa, Michael Wycoff.

For this evening we’ve roped in one of our favourite DJ at Eyes Down, the unstoppable: DOMU

The man with more aliases than most people have pairs of socks, Dominic Stanton continues his sporadic residency at Eyes Down. This will be his 6th appearance for us, and the last 5 have been nothing short of mind-blowing. Ask anyone who witnessed his set at the D:Percussion after part for proof of that. With that nights extensive line-up his set was short but sweet, and we thought it only fair to give him a proper amount of time behind the decks!!
