Thanks for sharing your experience with Van Hunt, riosmusic. I got to see him here in Nashville. I hope to see him again and maybe next time get an autograph. I wish him much success. Now that he's just starting out he's more accessible than say someone who is more widely known which is good for fans that are really into his music.

A friend put me on to Van Hunts album, a couple of weeks ago.
I love it, so it was that much more cool to meet him
and he being so humble was very cool. The guy is really gonna be great and I am just trying to make the point that we should appreciate and support his development. So everyone, go buy the album titled "Van Hunt" in stores now

I too feel the Van Hunt Album. It's such a Funky groove with a hint of rock. We need more ARTISTS like him! Why do people sleep on the most talented artists??? Hmmmmm.

Man, Van Hunt's album is hands down one of the most slept on records of the year. riosmusic, you should definitely run out and buy a copy. It's self-titled and on Capitol Records. I can't imagine that anyone knew about the release, since there was not much buzz on it. But buzz has to set in motion by "someone" (hint, hint). It can develop on it's own, but it needs to have a foundation and be buttressed. But, at any rate, he's a great talent. Yeah, that Cree Summer album was great. Another slept on record. "Deliciously Down" was one of my favorite tracks. BTW, did you make it out to Prospect Park on Friday? Van Hunt headlined. It was great!

I had no idea that Van Hunt was trying to break out as a solo artist! I just knew of him as the amazing writer behind Cree Summer's "Deliciously Down" and Dionne Farris's unreleased "Hidden Charm" from 'Signs of Life'. What is his web address? What's the name of his CD? Does he have one?

I got to meet Van Hunt last night at the Sin- E show, both before and after the performance. I was chattin with him at the bar before the show and he asked that we do all we can to pay it forward and put people on to him because he is not getting the support he needs from radio. Good r&b like his (and bilal, anthony hamilton, omar, prince, d'angelo, stevie etc.) doesnt get support from radio in general but when it comes down to it these are the people that will influence the next generation of musicians and it is unfortunate that radio doesnt understand or appreciate that fact. All I can say is that through all kinds of tech. problems and he forgot the words to down here in **** , he rolled with it kept it light and playful and played a pretty good show. It was intimate and just an amazing experience. He is just a very personable guy with a great sense of hospitality towards people. he posed for pictures and autographs and spoke with people outside after the show. As a fellow musician and artist, the only thing I could constructively criticize is that it would kill his band to put a little more effort into the arangements and continuity for the stage show. His musicians ( Especially the keyboard player and the drummer are pretty weak, but the bass player is tight but the guitar player can put some work into his playing ( very cliche') and Van Hunt himself plays guitar rather sophmorically, but that is part of his allure. We are getting the chance to see an artist develop right before our eyes and that is a rare treat so pay more attention to this kid. Go to his website and if your in ny, go to his website and come support him when he comes back to play in hoboken ,n.j. you wont regret it, I guarantee. And theres a better than likely chance that you'll get to meet him because aside from these event shows like brooklyn was, this tour is a very grass roots campaign in rather small venues so get ready for a treat :)
