[Update: Universal Motown has pulled the video from Youtube. Watch it HERE instead.]
This weekend, Erykah Badu released a video for "Window Seat." We think you'll like it. Click over to @fatbellybella to join the discussion about the video where Erykah walks down the streets of Dallas and strips off all of her clothes. Directed by Coodie and Chike, the video shouts out to the Brooklyn indie rockers Matt & Kim for their similarly themed video.
The video takes place in the location where JFK was assassinated, starts with the radio broadcast, and the ending reveals more meaning when Erykah drops at the sound of a gunshot, in the exact spot where Kennedy was shot. CNN sums it up as "The R&B singer said she was making a statement against "groupthink," which she tweeted was an "unwritten rule" that "i will not express my true opinion if it opposes those i love and fear." More tweets from the video shoot include "they were yelling, 'THIS IS A PUBLIC PLACE : YOU OUGHTA BE ASHAMED : PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON : DAMN GIRL! etc," and "the people caught in the shot were trying hard to ignore me." She also said that when the camera stopped, they ran.
