Plastic Beach
is packed with big names ranging from Snoop Dogg and Mos Def to Bobby Womack and Lou Reed, to our Swedish little favorite, Little Dragon. NPR calls Plastic Beach “a genre-bending collection of glitchy club beats and hip-hop grooves, augmented by brass, glitzy synthesizers and Asian- and Arabic-tinged orchestral harmonies.”

An Exclusive Evening With José James – April 17

josejamesAfter a 2 year absence from NYC, José James is finally back and he has a brand new CD to show off. Blackmagic, released February 1st, has been garnering steady critical acclaim since its release. Featuring the likes of Flying Lotus on the production team, this album is both a nod to José’s jazz roots as well as a step into a new R&B laden sound for him. Put Me On It blogger said it best when she said “this is the kind of album that makes you want to name your first born José, even if you’re Nigerian.”

He will be making a rare NYC appearance on Saturday, April 17 at Hiro Ballroom. There are very limited advance tickets and table reservations available here.

If you haven’t heard the new album, you should do yourself a favor and get it now. In the meanwhile here is a remix of his new track “Warrior.”
