Si*Sé “This Love” – Hird Remix
March 4th, 2010
To follow the Crystal Pharoah Remix of Si*Sé’s “This Love,” we have a new remix by Hird, best known for his album Moving On with Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon). This track is on the mellow side of house, but the driving instrumentation makes it great for the dance floor. It has elements of breakbeat in the verses, undulated bass lines, and subtle touches of jazz.
Si*Sé’s EP, Gold, comes out next week on March 9th.

An Exclusive Evening With José James – April 17
March 1st, 2010
After a 2 year absence from NYC, José James is finally back and he has a brand new CD to show off. Blackmagic, released February 1st, has been garnering steady critical acclaim since its release. Featuring the likes of Flying Lotus on the production team, this album is both a nod to José’s jazz roots as well as a step into a new R&B laden sound for him. Put Me On It blogger said it best when she said “this is the kind of album that makes you want to name your first born José, even if you’re Nigerian.”
He will be making a rare NYC appearance on Saturday, April 17 at Hiro Ballroom. There are very limited advance tickets and table reservations available here.
If you haven’t heard the new album, you should do yourself a favor and get it now. In the meanwhile here is a remix of his new track “Warrior.”
