Colin Munroe Covers Prince + MP3

The producer we’ve all had our eyes on, Colin Munroe, is back with a bold move: releasing a cover of Prince‘s “I Would Die 4 U.” His 2008 mixtape Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero left us wanting more, so the delayed full-length (Don’t Think Less of Me) is high up on our radar. Colin let this download out to his fans as a little reminder not to think less of him.

El-P: “Time Won’t Tell” Video

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/2MOqL5kwWUs" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

For a hip-hop artist, El-P‘s music is relatively calm and very cinematic. The visuals match the sounds in this new video from his all-instrumental Megamixxx. (Download the full We’reAllGoingToBurnInHellMegamixxx3 here). From Gold Dust Media: “The video for ‘Time Won’t Tell’ is inspired by a childhood memory of director Shan Nicholson, who grew up in the ‘Old New York’ during a time when necessity often bred creativity. This video depicts a young boy innocently finding a way to embrace his imagination amid an urban wasteland.”

“What You Talkin About!?” Video by Redlight ft. Ms Dynamite

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/05-s3bmj9oU" width="550" height="445" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]

You remember the lady UK rapper Ms Dynamite and her Flamenco-inspired beat on the 2002 hit “It Takes More.” US fans were simultaneously inspired and baffled – what to do with such a strong female voice in the world of fancy cars, clothes and hoes?

Apparently Ms Dynamite is back with the neon times, begging comparisons to Rye Rye and M.I.A. on a single with Redlight, “What You Talkin About!?”. She has a new album coming out too, so look for it on MTA Records later this year.
