Check out the first single from the buzzworthy Jessie J, whose debut album will be out on Lava Records / Universal Republic later this year. The title track, “Who You Are” is about a point in Jessie’s career where the singer’s aspirations were hanging on a thread. “The most important thing in life is to be happy, but everything had become too ‘business’ and sterile. I really thought I was going to quit — not music, but the music industry … it wasn’t easy,” Jessie states. “I was really down, but when I’m down, I write a song about it.” (After the jump, check out a trailer for the video.)
Collaborator / producer Dr. Luke : ”Jessie J has one of the best voices I have ever heard. She is a hit songwriter with her voice and a lot to say.”
There’s also a private Jessie J showcase in NYC tonight at 7pm. We happen to have 1 pair of giveaway tickets – if you want em, comment or tweet us!

Vtech Music has given us videos of Bilal in an amazing jam session, reworking classic songs like “Is This Love” and “Tainted Love.” But it’s especially appropriate that today they have released Bilal’s official music video for “Robots,” a track from the monster of an album Airtight’s Revenge.
From Vtech, An Election Day Special:
On this Election Day 2010, Bilal teams up with French director Mikael Colombu to bring you “Robots”. Come along and join us on this multi-media journey as we see the world of politics through Bilal’s eyes. Mikael’s ability to translate Bilal’s words into imagery, gives us a chance to properly reflect on his ideology of modern times.
To Bilal, people are becoming more like robots through the use of manipulative propaganda by corporate media . This video is his way of opening everyone’s eyes to the truth. As you watch “Robots” you’ll soon find yourself paying very close attention to what is really going on.
Pass this along, and help the robots amongst us.
And don’t forget to make a change by voting today.
This German trio has an amazingly unique sound that can only be described as “acoustic techno.” For Brandt Brauer Frick, pianos, strings and drums provide the common thread between the classical past and techno present. While their music contains rich tones and timbres of orchestral instrumentation, their rousing tracks are rhythmically focused with the precision of electronic club beats.
Their debut LP, You Make Me Real, showcases the group’s stunning rhythms and chords, which speak fluently in an increasingly beat-driven culture. Their deep knowledge in music’s foundations helps them in creating a more pure, perfect sound. Their album will be released later this month.
