    GPWW 12/22/10 Worldwide Family Mixtape – Gang Colours, UK

    One of Gilles Peterson’s last radio shows of 2010, he picks out some favorites like DJ Oil, Theophilus London, Taylor McFerrin, Ghost Poet and more.     Every year, we measure the projects we worked on throughout the past 12 months using a meticulous ratings system based on funk levels, dancing reactivity, clicks per engagement, dollars forked over, random tallies, and the rest is sealed in confidential documents protected by the US government.

    This year Sade, Erykah and John Legend with The Roots are just a few of the artists rated as one of our top ten 2010 releases. Congrats to them! And us!

    Tonight, December 27th, at Good Units at Hudson, Giant Step and Objectivity join forces to celebrate Dennis Ferrer’s birthday with a very special party featuring Dennis Ferrer himself in a rare NYC appearance, along with the aid of fellow Objektivity family members The Martinez Brothers, and Jovonn. Doors open at 8pm on the eve of our final Hudson Series event of 2010.

    New Video For Kabanjak’s “Don’t Worry” Featuring Sitali

    Switchstance Recordings‘ debut music video comes from Kabanjak (one half of Ancient Astronauts) for “Don’t Worry,” featuring Sitali of Thievery Corporation’s live band. Shot by ESL Music’s Robin Bell on a sunny day in the nation’s capitol, the backdrop for the video fits the song perfectly.
