For the next installment of our SVEDKA Vodka Music Sessions we head south to Miami Beach for the Art Basel festivities. Showcasing the art of Alec Monopoly and featuring the soulful sounds of Aloe Blacc & The Grand Scheme plus Blaqstarr, along with special DJ sets by Nick Cohen, Jaime Biden, and Alexandra Richards, the night begins at 9pm on Saturday, December 4th, at Sunset Lounge at Mondrian, A Morgans Hotel. Entrance is free but strictly RSVP only. Please arrive early, as RSVP does not guarantee admission.
Tomorrow, December 3rd, Giant Step Presents José James; plus TK Wonder & Ben Perowsky’s Moodswing Orchestra, and DJ GE-OLOGY in a very rare Brooklyn appearance at Littlefield. According to José James this is going to be the very last performance of the Blackmagic concert series. That’s right folks, the very last one! So make sure you grab your tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the door.
“This project is very close to my heart. It’s a tribute to not only the greats like Marvin Gaye and Leon Ware, but to our contemporary giants like Flying Lotus and Benga. I’ve toured Blackmagic in 30 countries this year and worked with an amazing group of artists and producers on the album – Gilles Peterson, Flying Lotus, Moodymann, Taylor McFerrin, DJ Mitsu the Beats, Richard Spaven, and many more. From Paris to Sao Paolo, people have showed us mad love! How fitting that the final show is in New York, the place where I got my first Lotus beat labeled “Blackmagic” and opened the door to making the record. This is going to be a night to remember.” – José James
Daft Punk’s first film score – for Disney’s film TRON: LEGACY – has been getting us all so excited in the days before its December 7th release. Our pre-release listening parties with SVEDKA Vodka continue around the country in the coming days, so please join us to check out the exclusive 22-minute mix of the 22 brand new tracks by the French duo.
The next Listening Event will take place tonight – December 2nd – here in New York City at Hudson Bar at Hudson, A Morgans Original, at 9pm. Entrance is free with RSVP.
