Pharoahe Monch’s video for “Clap (One Day)” is something of a short film, a ten-minute music video directed by Terrance Nance with additional scoring by The Lion Share Music Group. The stretched story-of-a-music-video format has been popularized by Gaga and Kanye, whose videos tend to lead to very altered realities, always centered on the artist. This video on the other hand, is all too real for entire communities.

The video ‘tackles the subject of police brutality’ and tells the story of ‘a police raid gone horribly wrong’ with the kind of acting and violence which might be banned from television. Watch it for yourself and let us know what you think of this poignant video. If you buy the album W.A.R. on iTunes, this crazy video will be included. W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) is coming out on Duck Down Records on March 22nd. [Pre-order on iTunes]

Another lighter track from the new album came up on Soundcloud this week as well:
